Patagonia Worn Wear

PROJECT OVERVIEW
THE PRODUCT
Worn Wear is Patagonia’s program that keeps outdoor wear and gear in action for longer. Hamish was tasked with driving Worn Wear’s three-tonne ‘Tiny House’ repair shop across Austria, France, Italy, Germany, and Switzerland, and reporting through a photographic essay of its progress through the European Alps.
THE PROBLEM
Patagonia's Worn Wear program sought to address the issue of unsustainable consumption and disposal of outdoor wear and gear. The outdoor industry often contributes to environmental degradation through the constant purchase of new items and the improper disposal of old ones. To counter this, Worn Wear aimed to promote repair, reuse, and prolonging the lifespan of outdoor gear. However, effectively reaching and engaging consumers across multiple European countries with this message was a challenge.
THE GOAL
The project aimed to lead the Worn Wear initiative by overseeing the 'Tiny House' repair shop's journey across European Alpine countries, engaging consumers to embrace sustainable gear practices. This involved creating awareness, documenting the journey through a photographic essay, and fostering behavior change towards prolonged gear use and repair.
THE AUDIENCE
Patagonia customers and outdoor enthusiasts interested in sustainable consumption, repair, and longevity of outdoor wear and gear.
